Hippie, 70s, ethnic, boho-chic, vintage … basically the perfect combination for the festival season. If you are a colour and glitter freak, that can’t really show off her inner fairy in the middle of the big city, attending a themed festival will advance more than a mind blowing concert for you. I’m talking about creating a character, a casual comfy outfit that will empower you to have fun till the early morning! You probably hunt for new hair\braids ideas, funky make-up looks, flash or henna tattoo designs and struggle to find that perfect online accessory store. You may have planned your exact outfit for every night, but we both know you’ll end up with an extra suitcase full of cloths you will not need… My preparation list is almost complete and I thought I can share it with you guys and add some tips and tricks that may be in handy this summer.
First of all, and maybe my favourite part- GLITTER. One of the latest trends that you may have seen during the Burberry’s Fall 2016 Men’s show and now, all over Instagram, is the sparkling under-eye make-up, or how the makeup artist Wendy Rowe likes to call it: the sparkling “tears of joy”. All this years people tried to hide and cover up their freckles, and now one of the cutest trends is blowing up: you can use metallic flash tattoos, craft glitter, or sequins to create different styles of faux painted freckles.
Music festivals are all about true self free spirit, and what great way to glow then adding a little bit of sparkle to your make up, or even your hair. You can adopt the glitter roots trend and find your hairstyle spirit animal. It’s super effective especially if you want to cover grown-our roots in a more colourful manner. I think I am more than prepared to glow this summer, considering that I’ve just purchased 24 different packs of glitter…well at least I know what will take most of the space in my suitcase. For my festival make-up look with this outfit, I’ve decided to use bright pink and white glitter as a highlighter above my cheekbones and to create a colourful double blue wing eyeliner.
For this post I’ve decided to create a bohemian festival inspired look, so my lovely friend (check his amazing work: Sorin Marculescu Photography ) and I went to the Japanese Garden in the Bucharest Herastrau Park to shoot the outfit and the presentation video.
Lately I have an obsession with long maxi dresses. The empty back and the flowing material of this one made me feel so comfy. To accentuate my waist I’ve used a black\silver leather belt with some aztec details that I found on ASOS.COM. The best thing about this style is that you can add as many accessories as you wish. It was quite difficult for me to find interesting silver\gold ring designs, but since one of my best friends showed me the items on REGALROSE.COM, I’m literally covering my hands in silver rings. This is also the store from where I purchase most of my stone chokers– they made such a massive come back this summer and they’ll be a must for your festival preparation list.
For next week I am shooting a henna tattoo video and a possible festival make-up tutorial. After this I will be on my way to Athens to meet up with my girls, but you can follow our journey on my Snap Story: @karii-b and I will update soon the #ExploreWithMe project. Enjoy babes!
