Today you’ll be joining @kendalwatkinson and I on the Norwegian Cruise Line and our first stop will be BARCELONA!
It was my first time on a cruise. Instead of being excited, all I was thinking about was whether or not I would get sea sick, or become a victim of the modern version of Titanic. All my worries went away when I realised the amazingness of the place, literally a 5 starts hotels in the middle of the sea. It could easily take you up to 25 minutes to get from one side of the ship to another. Excluding the amount of time you’ll be stopping either for food, playing in the arcade, going to the spa\pools\water slides, spending your monthly allowance in the shopping centre or simply enjoying the breathtaking view of the ocean.
Our trip was a 7-day Western Mediterranean cruise starting and arriving back to Barcelona, the place where we also decided to spent a few more days, both before and after the cruise. We spent the first day sailing and enjoying all the exclusive activities on the ship, from the Ice Bar, theatre, comedy club to an inside dining Circus! On the second day we arrived in Naples – Italy, from where we went on to explore the most beautiful cities in the south of Italy: Sorrento and Positano. The next day we were already in the Civitavecchia Port, where we started our trip towards Rome. On the 4th day we arrived in Livorno – Italy, from where we had the chance to travel to Florence and Pisa. The next day? We were in Cannes-France. Later that night we start sailing again so we could arrive the next morning in Palma de Majorca, Spain. After this, we headed back to Barcelona for disembarkation where we spent a couple of extra days, to get the real vibe of the city.
Enjoy the gallery and get a sense of the main hotspots in Barcelona: Las Ramblas – Barcelona’s most famous street, Barcelona ZOO, Casa Mila By Antonio Gaudi, Park Guell by Gaudi, La Sagrada Familia, Barrio Gotico – the Gotic quarter of Barcelona’s medieval city or the Montjuic Hill.
